June’s   Top 3  Posts

June’s  Top 3 posts  that tug most on my heartstrings are those that evoke the most  Feeling.

Those Faces that have revealed the most unique, authentic character pull me in.

Through the  visual imagery – yes.

But also the  words,  the verse that accompanies the image.

Number 1

Own The Sky,

with  an unforgettable verse by    MsMoem.com     I fell in love with the spectacular soaring and inspiring message Ms. Moem shares with us, revealed in her stunning word choice.

Number 2

Why Does The Rose Cry, Mommy?   is another that wraps itself right around my heart.

Number 3

Ink Stained Face of Watercolor, Midnight – the verse is deep and strange and compelling;  it reveals yet another face… of the Day, of watercolors, of self.

June ends,   but  July  begins!

July…. the Official,  “World Watercolor Month.”

I’m going to watercolor,  doodlewash, ink and wash up a storm this month and donate to the Children’s Art programs – so they can create Art too !!

Lets all pitch in to help out.    Check out Charlie’s Doodlewash.com   World Watercolor Month for more details.

The act of creation, in any media is a fascinating and magical process. I simply love to create. Expressing in color, line, tone, texture - as if, they were words upon a page. Creating a uniquely me, interpretation. Enjoy More of my "one-of-a-kind" expressive art at society6.com/debiriley and, redbubble.com/people/debijriley/shop

      2. oops, will get to FB later. (I’m not too good with being on it alot) thanks. So glad you are going to hop along on the WC in July!! all the time or some days?
I’ll do some days. and some wc/inks…and whatever takes my ‘fancy’ thats in the wc realm. For You….. what if, you did wet in wet? finishing foregrounds on drier paper? or a watercolor base then a ‘light dusting’ of Pastels???

      3. I think I do some days because every day makes I think that I am in stuck in a Dickensian treadmill of sorts. hmmm all great ideas, for sure. I get in Facebook and check on things and then I am outta there. Too much politics and drama and too many memes which I despise, not all because some of them are cute. I like more personable posts.

      1. disciple of watercolor zen…. is me!! don’t think i will ever control it. lol but zen with it, Yes, I am Most Happy to do that! PS with watercolor month – just a thought for you!! – to think on. you could, draw something. then splash on/pour on watercolor in a targeted area. it would count as wc.

      2. Thank you for this wonderful suggestion. I should make life easier on myself and take this route. I draw way better than I paint! Well I just feel differently working in acrylics. It’s like working with a net, fully clothed vs working naked without one. In my head. This is a great suggestion, I will think on this. Thank you!!! ((((((3d)))))) 💜💜💜

      3. no worries ((((LL))))) I just could feel, those vibes and wanted to throw out some options that ‘might’ be of use. using acrylics thinned (to a near clear consistency) can be construed as wc. as well as mixed media that is 75% or so wc Dominant. imo 🙂

      4. Thanks, Debi, definitely taking this into advisement. My painting today is a wc abstract mixed media, coincidentally! lol! I almost didn’t post it, honestly, but some of the comments have really surprised me. Would be interested in your thoughts if you had the time for a wander. I hope you’re having a nice weekend so far and that your sister will be coming soon? Enjoy, my sweet! (((((((3d)))))))

      5. Ps. Sometimes I don’t get notifications in the reader for comments or follows. And yours is one of them. I got an email but no notification so I’m having trouble replying but thank you for taking the time to look. I’m often surprised when a painting I almost tossed or didn’t really wanna post except I had nothing else gets positive feedback from anyone. Ok, hope you are feeling better and love to your sister. If she’s there. Or coming. Gollum keeps poking me! Have a nice night. 💜
