Birds and Kids on Silly Saturday

Thru the Fence

A classic,  “I’m looking at You”  look from Mr.  Bird at the wildlife park.

Before you ask,  I’m not sure what bird this was as we were with the children and ….. well,  I’m sure you can imagine.

I feel lucky, to have gotten any photos at all!

Kids these days are very active, restless legs or something. And seem to have extreme hearing difficulties as well. They should get that checked out.

Plus, their memory retention is dreadful.   My guppies seem to remember longer than they do.

oops.  It sounds like I could be describing someone closer to home.

 

Later,  I thought we’d have to get a disabled wheelchair for one of them.  Their legs were out of the blue,  all of a sudden, ‘too sore, I can’t move them’!       Someone,  please call the ambulance.   Its an emergency.

This photo looks adorable, with averted gaze and long lashes. But,  the rest of the body is rather “homely”  – that is a nice way of putting it!

 

We will return again to the park,  but perhaps a better plan will be with just the older child. One at a time.  Two, is just too much hard work,  unless you’re 30.

They do however like art, drawing and painting, much to my delight. You’ve seen Taylor’s  Matisse’s  Woman  and  Ryan’s Quail Eggs, not yet the other artistic one… but soon, in upcoming posts.

    1. thanks Jodi!! hope to go again soon. do some meerkats… won’t take the ‘sore legs’ boy though this time. Taylor will take her Sketch Pad, her mom and I will take cameras. 🙂

    1. all 3 love it, so far…. the 9 year old is into Drawing, the 7 year paints likes his COLOR, and the 2 year old was into Sennelier and Fabriano. lol you have to laugh – their art is hung Everywhere 🙂

    1. hi Catherine, thanks!! Going with a child (One, is preferable, LOL) is a great way to see the zoo from a fresh exciting perspective.

    1. Hi Charlie, thanks it was fun – most of the day! and ok, you can use my image to do a painting, if you like it that much!
      I don’t really do birds… sometimes horses, cats, dogs, or giraffes (loved yours!)

      7. Yes, that’s true. I’m happy my Volvo has such thick doors so that nobody hears me, maybe I should color the windows dark, too, so that nobody sees my raised middle finger, hehe

  11. It’s always good to laugh and I wish I had a third of a small child’s energy. I’m no averse to giving them suger as in a sucker to keep them somewhat occupied or crackers. With the sugar though you can rest later when they crash.

    1. that would be great! when mine were little, they got ran around the fields several times to burn that steam off! then of course, there were ‘chores’ to do 🙂
