In landscapes, paints, flowers….
my eye is always drawn to the blue/orange complement combination.
The land around Perth, up north near Kalbarri has beautiful and rich terracotta tones.
Land and Sea Complements
The boulders and escarpments…..
That ignites the earth when the last light of the sun touches the boulders.
In the above boulder image, looking past all that dominating rich earthy orange color… we can see the nuances of its complement, blue.
Whispering in ribbons throughout the rock.
What an inspiration!
The sea ranges from cobalt teal blue, to phalo blue and indigo.
Depending upon the mood of the sea that day.
The next post,
I’ll show a little more with these two color complements.
Where do you go, for serenity?
The quiet respite, can be found along the soft sandy shores.
The sounds of gulls and incoming waves, play like a melody in your mind.
In breathtaking indigo, cobalt, ultramarine blues and turquoise, the Indian Ocean captivates.
A wild tempest, lashing cyclones off the shores of Western Australia one day; a sweet kitten the next.
So wild. So beautiful.
With a myriad of faces and a dazzling display of hues, the Indian Ocean has me content in artist paradise.
For insight, into my art image I thought I’d share some of my thoughts.
Some of the creative and artistic processes, images, feelings, that were going on at the time.
I was inspired in this creation, Four Faces of the Indian Ocean by a number of things:
They each – played a subtle role, influencing me.
Their faces filtering in as I reinterpreted my adventures along, The Wild and Beautiful Indian Ocean.
