7 Fresh Faces (yellow flowers)

You know, at first glance,  I just might think …. “oh, …. more yellow flowers.”

Well perhaps,  you do too!

 

But what IF, the Faces were something beyond the ordinary?

Beyond the standard, the traditional and the conventional shots?  Would that pique my interest?

Most definitely.

7 Flower Faces

I received a gorgeous bouquet of my favorite colored flowers the other day.

Wanting to make these yellow lovelies last, I took numerous photos. Most were plain, standard (yawn)…. shots.

 

But then I got my other lens out and played around with the macro.

The idea  then, was to try to present their faces to you in slightly different ways.

I enjoy the concept, of ‘faces.’  It hints of things behind the scene, underneath. Under the layers.

Yellow flowers:  roses, lilies, sunflowers.

We have seen them!  A million times.

Why should I bother showing you more of the same?

Non- Conventional

Why not try to do ‘fresh’ and non-conventional?

Try to do something Unique, creative, beyond ordinary.

Perhaps to allude to a mood. A story.

A feeling.

Gratitude

Flowers, oddly enough can share and teach us many things.  One of which is Gratitude and appreciation of the everyday things.

And on that note, I’m Thanking the gift giver for these lovely warm and chirpy flowers, they are so appreciated! As he is as well.

  5. Lovely collection of yellow flowers, Debi. Very creative and each of them look incredibly unique 🙂 Love those tips at the end, and I agree that it isn’t important if someone does it better or get more attention. What matters is that we have fun with it and continue to experiment according to how our hearts feel. Over the years, I’ve come to be happy with just writing whether or not I get published in a renowned publication – achievements aren’t the be all, end all 🙂

      I’m nodding my head!
      I know that it takes ‘awhile’ for people to realise its not about comparing our work to others – but how we ourselves feel, in the Doing.
      The other thing Mabel, is many, now well respected writers, artists, poets, etc. may not have been particularily well received during their lifetimes. But later, the world goes… ah ha! I think of Clarice Beckett from Victoria – all her gorgeous oil paintings, out in a barn. until one day. Knowingly or not, still, she did leave a legacy. I find that a lovely thought!

      1. It is true. Not everyone starts out popular or even respected…especially with respect, it has to be earned often through patience. And I guess practising our art teaches us that. The more we do, the more we become.

  7. Great Post Debi, I think your photos just beautiful! One of my goals this season is to learn how to take better pictures. I especially need better photos of my artwork. Any tips for the uneducated?

    1. thank you! what I do is take the artwork outside in the shade on a sunny day…. get my digital camera canon 600d (its not new) turn it to AV so I set the fstop. usually try for 5.6 then 8 then 11 depending on the light. the lens I use is my 50mm 1.8 OR I might use my macro canon 100mm lens. *one Should, use tripod. oops! i handhold. the key for me, is Outside light. and the 50mm lens. and off auto! I always take min. of 10 shots, per artwork. Recently I tried my brandnew ipad pro, and I liked it sort of ok. You can go to Leanne Cole Photography website she has a TON of info!! in detail. very very good.

  9. Oh my gosh oh my gosh!! I’m practically jumping out of my seat with excitement because get this! I am doing the exact same thing. (Yawn) who wants to see the same old same old? NO! I’m getting down in the mud and getting really really creative just as you are! OH MY GOSH! Can you feel my excitement that you and I are on the same page??? YOU have just inspired me to grab my macro and even though it is freezing outside I AM getting those shots of Daffies that will have peeps saying oh wow! What IS that???? Oh, Debi, I have tears in eyes. It has been such a hard week (again) [story coming tomorrow] but YOU have ignited a flame I SOOOO needed. God bless you! Thank you! Your photography is AMAZING!!!!   10. Lovely macro images Debi – I love macro photography, it gives you a whole new universe to explore… ! I use a Canon 60 mm macro lens and I just love the abstract creative blur and bokeh you get at f/2.8 and I love my 50mm prime lens at f/1.8 too for the same thing.
