Monotype in Red

monotype process, black and white design on red matt, debiriley.com

How to get more impact and drama into an art work?

A fast and simple method is to use black and white, with red.

Red, has Power!

This is the original monotype….

It is interesting.  Good design. Nice tonal values.  Good perimeter edges.

But,  I do much prefer the impact of the RED matt surrounding it as shown in the featured image.

The act of creation, in any media is a fascinating and magical process. I simply love to create. Expressing in color, line, tone, texture - as if, they were words upon a page. Creating a uniquely me, interpretation. Enjoy More of my "one-of-a-kind" expressive art at society6.com/debiriley and, redbubble.com/people/debijriley/shop

  4. Debi, you made a great decision by adding the red matt here. Even the white matt with inner red line would create a strong effect here. The impact of Red is always so powerful, no matter how much or how little it appears in the painting!
