As much as I Love color….. sometimes black and white art images can appeal just as much to me.

Floral Pattern Black and White

Inspired by a vase overfilled with flowers, this monotype is completely pattern based.

It is an abstract, most definitely.

And as such, I thought it would make a great design for my shop products.  So when I’m finally up and running, this is one that’s going to be earmarked …get ‘readied.’

 

Monotypes

I’m quite enthused about monotypes.  It’s one of my favourite forms of creating art. The process is always an adventure, and something…wonderful seems to always happen!

 

They’re fast, fun and prolific.

You nearly always get more treasures than expected with this process.

I think of it as a Gold Mine.

  1. I’ve always loved black & white…well, not always, but I remember when my love affair with it started. I was five, and mad at my Mother for something. She was going to the fabric store to purchase fabric to make a dress for me to wear to Kindergarten which I’d be starting in a few weeks. She asked, ” Deborah, what color would you like your new dress to be?” I replied as snotty as I could, “BLACK!”

    She got to the store and thought, ” Black is too old for a five yr old…black and white works though.” So, she found a fabric in B&W she thought appropriate ( it was a small pattern abstract print) and made my new dress. I LOVED that dress! I wore it everyday for a week, and would have worn it until it fell apart if my Mom would have let me. Since then I’ve loved the combo in everything from clothes to decor, and art. I think I’d love your floral pattern in a t-shirt or skirt, or vase as well as a work of art.

      1. So, think about this print as a textile and market it for clothing! I wore black and white today from neck to toe!
        White jeans, b&w light weight jumper(sweater), with tall black boots, topped with a black corduroy blazer, and a black, white, and gray purse. I would have rocked a t-shirt in your floral pattern today! Just sayin. 🙂
