The act of creation, in any media is a fascinating and magical process. I simply love to create. Expressing in color, line, tone, texture - as if, they were words upon a page. Creating a uniquely me, interpretation. Enjoy More of my "one-of-a-kind" expressive art at society6.com/debiriley and, redbubble.com/people/debijriley/shop

  1. I love the fact that you presented a close-up because it is hard to really appreciate this piece from a distance…..I love the confluence of textures and even the cracks in the gesso? Is that gesso? love it! I think of a micro environment looking at it if that makes sense, like musical minimalism, you might over-look it for the repeating notes over and over but once you settle down and let it sink it, it has a rhythm all its’ own, its’ own environment so to speak. If you were to google it and listen to a piece, let’s say Terry Riley’s “In C” and gaze at this piece, you’ll see what I mean. πŸ™‚ I didn’t know what to call it when I saw your post on Facebook…..so it is canvas collage….got it πŸ™‚ yummy color by the way.

  2. As you can see I have been catching up since I’ve been away all week. Always great to be re-centred by being inspired by your week’s worth of posts. So much to think about and digest but as always striking a cord. Best wishes…A
