Silly Saturday Inspires

Thanks to Robyn at Captivate Me  and Julie Powell Photography   I’m inspired.

To challenge my old ideas.

To think…. a bit differently.

To push beyond my limitations of  my  normal regular ways of ‘doing.’

I’m inspired to look at my art paintings, my photos,  at things in general that I see around the neighborhood – with a brand new, fresh vision.

Unique. Original. My Own

Robyn and Julie’s challenge was to see differently.

Look and think on things a little on the unique side, differently.

Yes, A bit WEIRD.

But, ‘weird’ isn’t such a bad word, is it?

Not in an artist’s vocabulary!

When Fish FLY

So for fun today,

for a  Silly Saturday comeback –

I was just wondering: “when fish fly.”

I’ve combined my prussian blue oil landscape painting with a recent shot of 3 orange  koi fish.

I wanted to see  what if.

What would happen.  What would it look like.

What the blue and orange might look like together.   How the two designs could merge and unite.

I was Curious

Learning Points Today

  • oils don’t have to be  ‘Serious!’
  • combining my photographs with my paintings can be a fresh fun path
  • playful Disney like ideas, might just spur me into a better way of working
  • silly, different, odd and strange are better than Boring,  Stuck in a Rut patterns
  • I can release my strangle hold on my own ideas, views
  • others’   approaches and mindsets opens new doors  to my creativity
  • Fun and Play will fill the well, far better  than  ‘work and products’

  1. Love both paintings, interesting how your brush strokes alone with blues can provoke a “done” painting. I am in love with Mark Rothko’s paintings and your simplicity and choice of strokes does almost the same thing…..Rothko’s paintings vibrate, yours “waved” with movement. Not weird to think outside of the box, we all need to do that more often, as often as we can.

    1. thanks M! you picked up on the brush strokes of oil, which I loved too 🙂
i went to town with them, as its such a low key, dark dominant painting it could use more liveliness.
I’ve been using the word WEIRD, lately deliberately.
Trying to reframe the mind into seeing it in a Positive context.
weird…. really is simply another way of saying ‘different , From the regular.’ Weird = compliment. LOL

      1. Your wish came too late, dear Debi. Party last night with loud music, sigh. Had to get-up at 06.00h for my fleamarkets and was very tired, but found some nice and cheap things. Unfortunately it rains cats and dogs and I cannot bike, sigh. Regards Mitza

      1. Debi, I have no clue, I’m new over there. I just found that it’s much less time-consuming, which is the only thing that works for me right now. I’m glad you found me there! Looming forward to seeing your work on a more regular basis again!

  4. Hey Debi, I can help you out with those questions – you know how you tag things here? There, you do the same thing, just add the # right in front of each tag. I add my tags in my description, after whatever I want to say. I put a space in between each tag. #art #drawing etc Not sure if that’s required or not, but it’s how I do it. If someone comments on your post and you reply, they will NOT get a notification that you replied (as far as I know) unless you direct your reply to them. How you do that is you put the @ sign right before their name, whatever they are calling themselves there. So if you were replying to me, you’d say @createarteveryday, leave a space, and then whatever you wanted to say to me. I’ve also seen people say @xyzperson @abcperson Thanks! So that they don’t have to say thank you on a separate line to xxx many people, assuming that’s all you want to say. Click the circle with the point at the bottom to get into the comments area under anyone’s post, including your own. Click the heart to like a post (and you can also double click the image itself to like it as well). I hope this helps. ((((((3d)))))))
