Flower Power in Art!

Flowers. And, More Flowers!  I’m in a “Flower” kind of mood.  ANY  kind of flower will do.

Photos, mixed media, from the imagination, acrylics, inks, drawings, watercolor, old images or new.

Those things – are irrelevant to me at the moment.

Right now,  its All About the Flower!

My focus and purpose isn’t so much providing  “New”  and novel experiences that are exciting just at the moment but….. so easy to forget 10 minutes later.

Art Garden of  Flower Power

Its more of  an attempt, to try to convey the sheer beauty of form that various flowers can provide us in so many differing media.

More of a collection of florals to soothe and inspire.

More of a “Floral Oasis”  to come back to;  return,  to chill and zen.

It is a Garden.

And hopefully, the effort can be successful in some measure, for some!

Right now,  its all about The Flower!

Wonderful things, do come in small packages.

This close up of sunlit poppy petal still enchants me.

Even though the photo was taken nearly 10 years ago…. yes, Its OLD.

And loved. And still has things to teach…

A new,  image.  Intriguing in the depth of field. Soft edges front and back with the center area targeted and in focus.   I liked it.  Refreshing.

Being Inspired

Whether its old things or new things,  it is possible to be inspired and learn from them all.

Today’s post  was a great way to review images and see them with fresh eyes.

As well as putting them into a “Collection.”

Making a Collection and assembling the items, really does organise your thoughts and cements art basics while you are in the process too.  Its a great idea!

I hope you had a wonderful time traveling through my Flower Power Garden today.

It never fails to inspire and amaze me, how the various forms of flowers  create such gorgeous art.

  1. I needed a garden to stroll/scroll through….thank you for this post! beautiful photos and paintings. By the way, I can’t seem to locate DS Winsor Lemon Yellow, anywhere! so frustrating…..so I settled for Aureolin…..I hope and pray it will work better than that atrocious DS lemon yellow.

    1. hi Margaret, thanks for having a wander thru the garden!! aureolin will be ok. DS makes …. Hansa Yellow Light (which is close to Winsor and Newton’s *Winsor Lemon) I can use both quite happily for getting great clean, color mixes.

  2. What a great post and great collection of art Debi. Thanks for sharing your flower passion. I agree with you totally about how making a collections helps organize your thoughts. When you add writing about it like we do with blogging, it really helps cement those thoughts and the collection together.

      1. You wouldn’t believe how I looked! I looked like some sort of undead zombie. One eyebrow was about 4 cm higher than the other, the lid completely swollen. I had to lift it up in order to read my newspaper. I cannot use any make-up now and I really need make-up to feel a little human. But slowly, slowly I returned from the undead to the half zombies…

      5. Now that my eye is better it starts with the teeth. I hate to go to the dentist and I guess there are a lot of ugly things to be done. Having a lot of troubles with my neighbours (probably scratched our car and hung-up insulting things at their door outside) it’s too much right now, can’t sleep etc. Looking forward to my holidays and seeing something else, hugs Mitza
