The act of creation, in any media is a fascinating and magical process. I simply love to create. Expressing in color, line, tone, texture - as if, they were words upon a page. 1. Great subject to paint, I don’t recall ever seeing curtains painted with watercolor. Has a somewhat abstract feeling to it which I love and the pattern work is amazing, that takes some serious skills to master with watercolor. It is a beautiful statement piece!

    1. hi Eva, John Singer Sargent I believe, has done curtains in his lovely, loose colorful and impressionist style as part of his paintings.
Of course, I like His much better, LOL. Mr. Master of Watercolors.
my curtains were quite hard edged and abstracted, but I’d just posted a Doorway and wanted to post something related to a window in watercolors – for Watercolor Wednesday 🙂
Thank you Eva for your feedback, its a lovely comment!! cheers, Debi

  2. Hello Debbie !! This is So Pretty !! .. Just had to comment , infact, captivating !!..I love curtains and for some reason I associate them with ” people !” .. And how they are dressed! But of course that is just my imagination( smile ) . 😊 I was wondering if acrylic colours can match or come close to the Watercolours? Buying from a tube is probably all,I can do for now, but your colours are so beautiful and radiant! And the way you weave them together is amazing !!.I welcome Watercolour Wednesdays: learning so much !!. Greetings from Joanne

    1. hi Joanne, many kind thanks, as always! I agree about the people, I could imagine people in gowns dancing about.
Acrylics (can) come close mostly, but – the biggest dilemma – is they will be WAY too dark. so the artist must be ever so careful to constantly compare and keep the correct tonal values with every brushstroke.
**** This is more critical, than getting the precise color match!!

I had to laugh…….. I see swoon now, and burst into – giggles and chuckles!

  3. Alizarin is such a great color that I find will so often will transform an image particularly when added as a final wash. Love it here peking out between the drapes. Happy Saturday ( or Sunday with you of course) 🙂
