Simple designs often work out better than an elaborately constructed composition. This simple watercolour in a limited palette works well with the stark white of the paper as the background. The watercolour paints used were terre verte, indigo and burnt sienna. The branch has adequate tonal value shading, being lighter on the top and darker along the bottom. I don’t often use terre verte but it is a lovely, soft delicate moss green that suited this particular subject I felt.

The act of creation, in any media is a fascinating and magical process. I simply love to create. Expressing in color, line, tone, texture - as if, they were words upon a page. Creating a uniquely me, interpretation. Enjoy More of my "one-of-a-kind" expressive art at society6.com/debiriley and, redbubble.com/people/debijriley/shop View more posts

Much Appreciation for your sharing your thoughts and comments. I like hearing from you about my posts. I find it quite helpful and informative to see/hear how others are responding to the articles and posts. I try to balance photography with painting, and to give oils and acrylics equal ‘time’ with watercolours. Well, I try ! 🙂 Thank you very much for visiting, sharing your thoughts.
